Kickboxing Classes
Training
I recommend that all new starts begin with boxing in order to get the foundational pieces right, and once this is done then we can move on to kick boxing.
The styles that I teach are predominantly based on Muay Thai and K1, which in essence is Muay Thai with wit rule changes and protection, so that the effects of training are less harsh than proper Muay Thai. I also bring Karate and Taekwondo into the mix, but less dominant. In essence, I teach what I know.
It’s all about ramping up in terms of confidence, strength, agility and skill. We work at your pace, and that is the golden rule.
The only rule that I have is to have fun !
Sparring
Sparring is done with full gear. You will need a groin protector (optional), shin guards, a head protector with chin protection (full headgear) and a gum guard or two and hand wraps. I prefer 10oz gloves for Kickboxing, but any weight will do, and MMA gloves are more suited for grappling, if the student wants to bring that into the mix.
My ground game is terrible, but I am working on it, so just putting it out there that I do suck at this for now if you are expecting greatness for this, I will refer you to someone else.
